Residential Project

Standby Generator Installation

Home standby generator set on a concrete pad and connected for automatic backup power.

The situation

Outages in the Lehigh Valley are rarely convenient. Without backup power, a homeowner is left juggling cords, coolers and space heaters every time the grid goes down.

The work

ALM Electric set the generator on a level concrete pad clear of the deck and downspout, ran the flexible conduit feed, wired the battery and controls, then commissioned and tested the unit so it picks up the home's power automatically.

The result

The home now has standby power that starts on its own during an outage, installed in a location that keeps clearances, service access and drainage in mind.
