Damaged dryer receptacle identified during electrical repair.
The situation
This is what a loose connection on a high-draw appliance circuit eventually looks like. Heat damage at a dryer receptacle is one of the failures homeowners are most likely to ignore until it becomes urgent.
The work
ALM Electric traced the problem back to the connection, removed the damaged receptacle, inspected the conductors and the box, and installed a correctly rated replacement with properly torqued terminations.
The result
The circuit was returned to service safely. If you see scorching, smell heat or find a warm cover plate at an appliance outlet, stop using it and call.
